◆Message from Hanano Factory
At this exhibition, I will present the artwork which is with “Cosmos” mainly.
The first wooden artwork that I created for the first time was “Cosmos”.
One of the biggest cosmos gardens is located in Engaru-cho town at Hokkaido, where I live and grow up. It was a normal flow that I’ve created the wooden cosmos which is the symbol of the land.
First of all, the reason why I started wooden creation is because of my father. My father was creating the wooden sculptures for fun. The influence of my father, it was not rare for me to create artwork by wood. When I decided to create something, the tools which were collected by my father were with me so the environment was so easy for me to join into the wooden world.
My grandma was calling my father’s workshop “Factory”. My childhood was always with my grandma. When I was small, I was sleeping inside at grandma’s room and also my grandma cooked my meal so often.
When I started to work as a wooden artist in public, those family memories came up into my heart.
And, I decided to combine the word “Hanano” which is my grandmother’s name, and “Factory” which my grandma called my father’s workshop space, into my artist name, Hanano Factory.
My father and grandma have already passed away.
The wooden technique which I got the influence from my father.
The artist name which I got from my grandma.
Cosmos flowers which bloom on the land where our family lives.
How the cosmos flower gives our family healing, I also want to bring smiles to a lot of peoples through my cosmos art.
Through these ideas, I decided to share the wooden artwork “Hanano Cosmos” series artworks which has my artist name and also my grandma’s name.
It would be full of delight if I can share all of you the calm and peaceful feeling through my artwork.
